When: 11 am Mass - Corpus Christi - Sunday, June 11
Why: A physical sign of all of us taking Christ out into the world at the end of each Mass. We receive the gifts of the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist to strengthen ourselves and to share with others.
History: Is this something new? Not really - the Church has records of the custom of carrying the Blessed Sacrament in a splendid procession through the town after the Mass on Corpus Christi Day back to the 1400's. Eucharistic Processions were encouraged by the popes, some of whom granted special indulgences to all participants. The Council of Trent (1545-1563) solemnly approved and recommended the procession on Corpus Christi as a public profession of the Catholic faith in the real presence of Christ in the Holy Sacrament.
Don't miss out! A great way to start the year of Eucharistic Revival in our parish!
