It felt so good this week to see so many happy students filling the halls of St. Benedict School! After six months of inactivity the halls came alive again. Our teachers and staff have adapted well to this new mode of teaching, and it all seems to be off to a wonderful start. It is good to see.
Parish life, too, has been going well. We are making adjustments here and there, but are still limited in what we are able to do. We are planning some adult faith formation activities along the way. Hopefully we will be able to do all of what we hope to.
Sadly, as we come to the middle of the month of September we are conscious of the loss of the Parish Carnival next weekend. We were hoping to be able to do something, but all of the options seemed either unrealistic or expensive. The 50-50 Raffle will be pulled next weekend, so there is yet a week to get your tickets to the office.
Other than school, it is a quiet month. We have been happy to see the weddings coming in. While some couples have delayed their weddings due to the many restrictions in place, others have seen this as an opportunity to have the small and intimate wedding they really wanted. Let us keep all couples preparing for or contemplating marriage in our prayers.
These are certainly challenging times, but with the Lord's good grace we will certainly be able to get through it all.
