Here we are, the last week of April, a month that seems to have moved very quickly along. May brings a whole new energy to the parish. We are hoping that Spring is in full-swing by then, as April has been a bit chilly and wet. The landscaping companies that we use have been hard at work getting the property well-groomed and ready for the onslaught of flowers and blooms.
May is, of course, the month in which we pay particular attention to the Blessed Mother. Next weekend at the 11:00 am Mass we will celebrate the May Crowning. We will process to the statue of Mary in the school courtyard for the crowning.
Later this month -- weekend of May 18 - 19, is the Feast of Pentecost. On that Saturday evening we will have no 5:00 pm Mass as we celebrate instead the Pentecost Vigil at 8:00 pm. Please mark your calendars accordingly. At that time we will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation for a few adult members of our parish.
Pentecost Sunday is also the New Jersey Catholic Youth Rally at Great Adventure. Check the bulletin for the flier and make contact with Ciro Saverino for more information.
Please check the bulletin for information on the Diocesan Eucharistic Pilgrimage. The event is the last week of May, 28, 29, and 30. This pilgrimage is part of the larger National Eucharistic Revival events to be held in Indianapolis in July.
The Diocese of Trenton is hosting a job fair for those who are looking for jobs in the schools (teachers, aides, coaches, etc.) at St. John Vianney HS on Tuesday, May 7 from 4-7:00 pm. If you are interested, please feel free to attend. There is a QR-Code in the bulletin to register.
I would like to thank those who attended the seminar this past Thursday on wills and trusts. It was an informative and necessary conversation.
Also, this past week the school observed the Week of the Young Child. Our pre-schoolers and kindergarten students -- along with some of the older ones as well -- were feted with some interesting presentations and experiences. It was a fun and educational week for all of them.
Have a blessed week, and thank you for your support of our parish and school.
