This weekend we welcome Father Joseph Mary Kavuma from the Diocese ofKasana-Luweero, Uganda for the annual mission appeal. Please use the collection box in the Narthex for your contribution to the work of his diocese. You should be receiving over the next week or so the raffle tickets for our annual end-of-summer 50/50. The proceeds from the raffle support the parish, and this year we are designating the parish share for some deferred maintenance that we need for the church and the grounds. There are several needs that we have uncovered and as we prioritize them I will keep you apprised of projects. I know that raising money to support infrastructure is not exactly energizing, but it is those sorts of things that really dig into an annual budget. Thank you for your support. The Finance Council is finalizing the end-of-year financials this week, and a summary should be ready for the bulletin in the next few weeks. The projects for the school are coming along well. We have removed the ceiling in the gym and are now replacing the lighting and working on the sound system. The classroom expansion is also progressing quickly, so we are in good shape for the start of school. We are still accepting students for some of the grades, but most of the classes now have a waiting list. Our current enrollment is 520, with a few applications still pending. Young adults (18-39) are invited to our Young Adult Group this Thursday at 7pm for prayer and fellowship. Check the bulletin for more details. We will have a “back-pack blessing” for all students heading off to school--pre-K 3 to high school senior, on Labor Day weekend. Summer seems to be moving too quickly at this point. I hope everyone has a pleasant week, and safe travels to all who are out and about these last few weeks of summer.
