It feels like Autumn wants to come early this year, yet we know that Summer will still keep its grip on us.
Welcome home to all who have returned following the Labor Day holiday. We have missed you and are happy to have you back with us. Most summer weekends see us with 400-500 fewer people at Mass than we have during the other seasons of the year, so that impact is noticed for sure. Of course, there are those who will soon be heading off to Florida for thewinter. So the few weeks of the Fall bring us to a full complement of attendees.
You should have received your raffle tickets by now. Please try to get them back to the office as soon as you can. We have some important projects on the docket, and the proceeds of this raffle will help offset those costs. Thank you. If you didn’t get tickets or would like additional tickets, they are available at the Masses on Sunday.
Next weekend — Saturday, September 14th — is the first gathering of the Knights of Columbus for their bi-weekly Faith Formation Sessions. Ask a Knight or check the bulletin for more details. All men are welcome to attend.
The school opened in earnest this past week. All 525 students made their way, mostly smiling, though there were some sad faces and, yes, even some tears (and not just from the teachers!) as they walked through the doors.
This week — Tuesday through Thursday — Father Adam and I will be down the shore to attend the annual priest convocation for the priests of our diocese. Masses are covered for the week. Please keep all of us in your prayers.
This week things return to school-year-normal around here; a routine that feels good.
I hope everyone has a blessed and enjoyable week, Fr. Garry
