The month of November is set aside by the Church as the period when we remember the poor souls. I want to encourage everyone to offer at least one Rosary this month for the intentions of the faithful departed, especially those of your own families, the members of our parish, and in a particular way for those who have no one to pray for them. We will celebrate our annual All Souls Mass for those buried from our parish over the past year on Tuesday, November 19th at 7:00 pm. All members of the parish are invited to attend.
Tuesday, November 5th is Election Day, although with early voting available now, many have already exercised their right to vote. Please exercise your right, and vote with all due-diligence for the candidates who best represent our Catholic values respecting life, economic opportunity, social justice, and the protection of human rights and dignity. I know it can be very difficult, but we must yet exercise our civic duty. Whatever the outcome, we pray for the success of those elected to serve our community, state, country, and world with integrity and the common good always in sight.
Next Friday, November 8th the school will honor Veterans during our annual Veterans Day celebrations. There will be a prayer service and a parade. All veterans are welcome to attend.
We have begun the flooring project in the church and we will be seeing more progress over the next few weeks. There are some other projects we have planned for the near future. We are trying to get ahead of some structural issues and replace some of the mechanicals while being more conscious of security issues, promoting the safety of our students, staff members, and Mass attendees.
