I know it’s a bit shocking to see the Christmas trees in the narthex this early in the season, but it is the best way to get the message out there that this season of giving is underway. Thank you for your generous response to this initiative.
This week we are observing the annual Mass for those buried from our parish over the past year. The Mass is being held on Tuesday, November 19th at 7pm. The Bereavement Committee will be here and will offer light refreshments after the Mass. The same committee is presenting a prayer service with a guest speaker on Tuesday, December 3rd. All are welcome to attend.
Wednesday, November 20th we will anticipate the coming Advent Season with an evening of Song and Scripture also at 7pm.
All are welcome to participate in each of these prayerful and community building activities.
This weekend we are sponsoring our annual Adopt aSeminarian program. In this way we show our support for these men who are preparing for priesthood. At present we have only ten candidates for priesthood, which places our diocese in a very dire situation in our ability to fill pastoral positions over the next ten years.
Things in the school are going well overall. This is the time of the year when everyone settles into a good groove and we are running like a well-oiled machine. Of course, we are looking to the future and planning for the Open House during Catholic Schools Week in January. It is never too early to think about the education of your children, especially those preparing to enter pre-K and kindergarten.
