This weekend we celebrate the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord. It certainly still feels strange to celebrate this Solemnity on Sunday instead of Thursday, but that is the decision of the bishops in New Jersey, and so it goes.
Next weekend we observe Pentecost. We will begin with the Pentecost Vigil at 5pm when we will celebrate the confirmation of three adult members of our parish.
This Sunday evening we have the Graduation Mass for our eighth grade students. Their graduation rites are this coming Wednesday, June 4. I wish to congratulate them in advance, and give special thanks to their parents for entrusting them to our school for their education and formation. This has been a very good class, and we are very excited to see what they will make of their high school experiences.
I ask your prayers also this week for newly ordained Father Alan Bridges. He is ordained this Saturday, (May 31). Although you may have already realized it, both Father Adam and I are remaining in our service here for the coming year. Other than the end-of-school activities, there is little to reflect on right now. We do have some projects planned for the summer here, and I will get into that a little more when all the details are finalized.
We still have some spaces available in the Summer Camp-Out. If you are interested, please make contact with the school office. Now that the summer season is in full swing, please remember us when you are traveling. It is a good time to think about enrolling in WeShare for your weekly contributions. Details on how to sign up for We Share are in the bulletin and on the website.
