As we embark on the last week of October and the days grow ever shorter, we are increasingly aware that things aren’t getting better any time soon. Let us continue to be vigilant and prayerful during these most challenging of times. Remember to continue to pray the Rosary for our country as we lead-up to election day next week. Also, remember to vote and exercise your moral civic responsibility. Though perhaps voting via mail or drop-off is highly unusual, it certainly opens the window for all qualified citizens to cast their vote. Read more.

Lectio Divina of the Gospels for the Liturgical Year, 2020-2021 takes the reader through the traditional process of lectio divina, with reading, meditation, prayer, and contemplation, focused on the Sunday gospel reading.
It feels like October is just flying by, at least to me. I am not sure why, other than the desire to get through the election season and to be rid of the vitriol on the internet, the news broadcasts, and the like, is the thing to look forward to. I just realize that no matter what happens, it is probably going to get worse and not better. Let us continue our ardent prayers for our country and the world, so that we might find some peace and healing. Read more.

As the Fall Season moves along and we hit Columbus Day Weekend, we continue to try and expand our offerings here while maintaining a need to respect social distancing and the demands of the cleaning of the public spaces. We will be making some important adjustments to the schedule and some announcements soon. Many events are just too far out to speak about with any real clarity. The Structure of the Rosary The rosary has 59 beads, a crucifix, and a medal, with certain prayers for each of these different pieces. It has been another hope-filled and promising week here at St. Benedict’s. Last week the recent graduates of our school received the Sacrament of Confirmation, and this week the members of the religious education program will be confirmed on Thursday in ceremonies at 2 and 4:00 p.m. We ask for your prayers for all of them as they embark on the journey of the life of faith. Sadly, many will abandon the faith into which they have just been Confirmed, so we need to be particularly ardent in our prayers for them and their families. Read more.
