As we enter this last week of July our thoughts turn quickly to the end of summer and the beginning of another school year. As I mentioned last week we are now in deep with the summer projects, so the sidewalk replacement is well underway and the new boilers will be installed in the school over the next few weeks. All of the projects are necessary improvements to our property and will enhance both the appearance and functionality of the space. Read more.
As you can see things are moving here at quite a quick pace this summer. You will notice that the trees along the road next to the baseball field were taken down this week. Each of them was more dead than alive, and the large dead sections of the trees were a matter of concern, especially during the periods of heavy wind. Better to take them down when we could than have to deal with the fallout should something happen. Read more.
This year, it seems like every Sunday is something special instead of being able to celebrate Ordinary Time, and this Sunday is no exception. The only real difference is that this is a local celebration as today, we transfer the Solemnity of St. Benedict from its set date (July 11) to the nearest Sunday, as he is our patron saint.
