7th grade meets for one week during the summer academy with 4 jr high youth group meetings during the academic year to keep students connected and offer opportunities to earn service hours for the confirmation requirement.
8th grade will meet two Sunday evenings per month from 6:00-8:00 p.m. These evenings will take place on alternating Sundays from September through May. Also included in this preparation program will be retreats, service opportunities, reconciliation services, and Confirmation practices.
The Traditional Religious Education Program will still be offered on Wednesdays from September through May for students in grades 1-6.
All students in grades 2-6 will come to class from 4:45 p.m. to – 6:00 p.m. weekly
Grades K and 1 meet only 2 classes per month on Wednesday evenings
Grade 1 has the option of Sunday mornings 10:45 2 times a month - space will be limited

This program is a year-round program for 2-7th grade. Students attend Summer Academy for one week from Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
2020-2021 school year:
This program is a one week intensive Religious Education experience that was developed for families who attend Mass on a regular basis to help accommodate busy schedules during the academic year.
*This program includes attendance at 4 family days and 2 parent nights during the academic school year. Attendance at the family sessions is mandatory for students and at least one family member.
* If the family sessions are not attended the year will have to be repeated.
1 child- $225 2 children - $345 3+ children $475
Registrations after May 1st $50.00 late fee
2nd-grade students attend sacramental prep days instead of family days and have a $50 sacrament fee

Students preparing for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion that attend the Summer Academy and the Traditional Program will be asked to attend Sacramental Preparation during the year.
There will be 4- 6 sessions that will have to be attended during the year. These sessions will either take place on a Wednesday afternoon or a Sunday morning.
Dates will be announced in the spring.
Home study granted in special circumstances when the child is unable to attend religious education due to family challenges/difficulties including medical, academic and/or behavioral situations. The home study will not be used for sport or activity scheduling conflicts of any kind.
Home study is NOT allowed for a child who is receiving a sacrament that year.

Catch up Classes:
3 times a year we offer 8-week sessions for students who have missed one or more years of religious education. This program is to help families who have been away from the church or have had difficult life circumstances, to catch their children up to grade level without having to repeat each full year.
*A meeting with the DFF is required to be admitted to the program.

Bishop O’Connell and the Diocese of Trenton are pleased to announce the adoption of a new safe environment program, RCL Family Life Series for all our religious education programs and Catholic Schools.
The RCL Family Life Series will be implemented in all Religious Education and St. Benedict School classrooms.
