Because of Covid19 our Adaptive Programs for Special Needs will be changing. Information will be sent out shortly:
Summer Academy: There is a shortened day program in the first week (beginning July 19) with a certified Special Needs teacher. We are developing quarterly family days for the children to see each other during the school year and for families to connect.Finding God is a new program that St. Benedict Parish will begin using for the 2019-2020 academic year.
See the information below.
Anyone who works with children knows that each child is unique, with his or her own special talents and abilities. And when a child has special needs, it’s even more important to teach to a child’s strengths. Recognizing a child’s uniqueness sometimes requires adaptations to typical learning situations. Adaptive Finding God provides an answer and leads with this idea in mind: It all begins with the child.
Adaptive Finding God is the foremost program of its kind, offering faith formation for children with special needs, and adaptable to a variety of settings and situations. Adaptive Finding God can be used in conjunction with the Finding God grade-level books or as a stand-alone program for parishes, schools, and at home.
Meaningful catechesis: Adaptive Finding God provides catechists, teachers, and parents with the tools and guidance to offer meaningful catechesis for all children.
Multisensory learning: Loyola Learning Tools™ enhance lessons by serving children’s different strengths and abilities.
Builds on strengths: Respects children and those who serve them by recognizing and building on each child’s gifts and providing support to build on strengths.
