Virtual Summer Academy Details

The craft pick up is :

June 28: 12pm- 3 pm
June 29th 10am-1pm

Google Classrooms:

We will be uploading your children to their classrooms next week (June 21-25).
Please login to your child's emails and accept the invitation.
We would like to make sure any bugs are taken care of before we begin

The formula for the emails is:
8th grade graduation year, last name, first initial @stbenedictnj.org

Grade 3 email for John Smith would be
Ex. 27SmithJ@stbenedictnj.org
Password: faith123 (if that does not work, try Faith123)

First Grade and New Students: Your emails are being created this week. We will send you the email and passwords as soon as we have them.

Lessons:
Will post on July 1st and are due July 30th.
You may work through the lessons at your convenience.

It is possible to complete your lessons in one week. Each unit (3 lessons) will take no more than 2 hours depending on the child.
Or you can space out your lessons over the month as long as they are all completed by July 30th.
Video tracking. As part of their attendance, we will be tracking the length of time the videos are watched. Last summer there were numerous children who were not watching the videos and simply guessing at the quizzes. Please help us to make sure the kids are getting the full benefit of the program.

Family Days: Please remember a minimum of 4 Family days is a requirement for In-person and Virtual Summer Academy students.

This year we will offer some new options that we think might work better with the rhythm of family life.
The Family Day calendar will be sent shortly.

Grade 2 will attend 4 sacramental prep meetings during the academic year instead of family days

Communions are usually scheduled the first 5 weekends after Easter at our Sunday Masses.
Sign-up for communion will be sent out in September

Reconciliation

On Wednesday, July 14th, and Wednesday, July 21 we will be offering reconciliation for the Summer Academy, in-person students.
We are reserving 1 pm each day for Virtual Students
If you would like to bring your family to receive the sacrament

Mass
On July 30th the Virtual Summer Academy students are invited to attend our 9 am Mass to close the program.

No RSVP needed.

Because of the need to have more staff and plan carefully, all students must be registered by May 1st.

Students who are behind in their faith formation for this 2020-2021 academic year must have the content completed by June 1st to attend the next grade level.
